Pediatric Dental Services For Kids
What is Pediatric Dentistry?
Pediatric dentistry involves care that is specific to babies, toddlers, children and teenagers. We aim to make your child's dental visit as comfortable and relaxed as possible. At all times, we use kid-friendly terminology so that your child can feel calm during their appointment. With preventative care, we can help to keep your child's smile looking its best for life.
Why might Pediatric Dentistry be needed?
Dental care is incredibly important when it comes to your child's smile. It is recommended that children first come in for a dental checkup as soon as their baby teeth begin to come in.
However, it's not uncommon for parents to wait until their child is about two years old before bringing them into the office. We are here to provide your children with the care that they both need and deserve.
Who is a candidate for Pediatric Dentistry?
All children and teens are good candidates for pediatric dentistry. We will help to monitor the health of your child's teeth as well as the growth and development that is happening as they grow up. As they reach about seven to eight years old, we can even consult with you regarding orthodontics. Because children tend to be more susceptible to tooth decay, regular appointments are a must for improving the health of their teeth.
What happens during Pediatric Dental appointments?
Your child will be greeted in our office and brought to one of our operatories. They will sit in the chair and a cleaning will be done to remove buildup from their teeth. We then perform an examination, which looks for problem teeth, growth and development as well as cavities. From there, we will recommend treatment options according to your child's needs. We will provide them with education and recommendations so that they can keep their teeth looking their best at home. It is important that your child comes into the office once every six months for a preventative care appointment.
If your child is in need of dental care, call our office today so that one of our friendly staff members can further assist in scheduling an appointment for you.
